National Design Team Member

Great Clips, Inc.’s (“Great Clips”) National Design Team is a select group of stylists from the more than 25,000 stylists working in over 4,400 Great Clips® franchisee-owned and operated salons. Their objective is to promote the Great Clips® brand. The National Design Team influences the cosmetology industry through content posted on multiple Great Clips platforms such as social media and the careers site (Jobs.GreatClips.com) and live demonstrations at industry events. Working as a NDT is an annual commitment. 

To qualify for a DTM position you must be employed by and have the support of a Great Clips® franchisee, as well as maintain a valid cosmetology or barbering license.

Your Mission
To contribute to the team, you may be called upon to:

• Create written, photo, and video content for the Great Clips online media platforms
• Promote careers at Great Clips franchised salons
• Promote and demonstrate hair cutting techniques that represent the Great Clips® cutting system 
• Promote and demonstrate hair styling techniques that utilize Great Clips® exclusive products 
• Contribute to the Great Clips Careers content strategy by providing ideas and feedback
• Participate in Great Clips-produced videos for school presentations and/or online communication channels 
• Represent Great Clips salon stylists in video and photos projects utilized for both recruiting and marketing 
• Provide behind-the-scenes styling at Great Clips meetings and events (as requested)
• Represent the Great Clips® brand in a professional manner at industry events with technical demonstrations and career booth support 
• Capture content while attending industry shows and on-going as requested
• Be innovative to create social media content for all platforms

Please note: Travel is not required for all members. We are looking to add a few members who will focus mostly on creating content remotely, and a few members who are open to traveling for industry events. This will be discussed during the interview process.

Your Expertise
 To land this job you will need to show: 

• Strong technical expertise in haircutting with both shears and clippers
• Knowledge of trends and mastery of haircut techniques
• Good verbal communication skills
• Ability to stay organized, be responsive and complete projects
• Ability to accept feedback
• Commitment to a minimum number of events as requested by the Design Team Manager
• Maintain a minimum number of hours working behind the chair in a franchised Great Clips salon
• Experience in social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook
• Be enthusiastic about the Great Clips® brand and careers in the salon
• Be enthusiastic about hair cutting and styling techniques 
• Be employed by and have the support of a Great Clips® franchisee
• Maintain a valid cosmetology or barbering license

Your Work Environment

• Part-time temporary Great Clips, Inc. employment position (Please note that this employment with Great Clips is separate and distinct from your employment as a salon stylist with a third-party Great Clips® franchisee)
• Paid hourly
• Compensated for content development, training, travel, meetings, demonstrations, and performances
• Maintain a professional appearance that is consistent with all Great Clips® brand apparel guidelines
• Fulfill travel requirements (as requested) including possession of a valid ID and ability to manage luggage
