A Great Clips Technical Project Analyst plays an instrumental role on the Project Management team, in making that possible by bringing order to the software development life cycle (SDLC) process.   

This position is responsible for the timely creation, maintenance, and validation of project plans with input from the project manager, product owners, business analysts, and the applications development manager to track project status and ensure data used to create project portfolio reporting is accurate to help drive the SDLC process. This person supports large projects throughout all stages of the project process. This person also supports projects that do not have a project manager assigned (small to medium projects) by meeting regularly with the project teams to update project status and assist with clearing roadblocks. The technical project analyst will primarily support salon technology projects, coordinating efforts between Great Clips, Inc and our vendor partners.

Your Mission

As a Technical Project Analyst II, you will take on the challenge of creating and tracking projects through the SDLC process using the defined project process. Your contributions will help drive the team’s ability to release quality solutions on time and within budget. These challenges paired with your personalized development plan will hone your skills and give you the opportunity to continue leveling up your project coordination skillset.  On your journey, you will face challenges like:

  • Providing project management to all size technology projects by ensuring the timely entry and updating of project data, identifying and documenting issues and risks, assist with resolution of issues, and reporting project status to leadership.
  • Supporting the SDLC process by creating, collecting, and evaluating data to create, manage, and disburse reports to the project teams, notifying the teams of any abnormalities.
  • Updating project status reports and dashboards, analyzing data to identify opportunities to increase efficiencies in the SDLC process.
  • Working with project team members to gather resource information on existing projects and forecast future resource capacity and budget numbers.
  • Communicating clearly and openly among product owners, project team members and all IT functions regarding project status to ensure the SDLC runs efficiently.
  • Continuously educating the BIT team and business teams on the SDLC and project processes and use of templates.
  • Ability to listen, earn trust, and accept direct feedback from team members while building strong, positive relationships within the team and across the company.

Your Expertise

To land this job you will need to demonstrate:

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written and verbal communications to internal and external customers with various levels of computer, process, and informational knowledge.
  • Demonstration of strong project analyst skills, including but not limited to analysis, problem solving, and forecasting.  Ability to track and manage project plans, can anticipate and effectively mitigate risks.
  • Ability to lead teams of 4+ people through each phase of the project process and confidently direct and facilitate project work.
  • Ability to coordinate work between organizations and vendor partners.
  • Experience with Microsoft tools and applications, and business applications, including project management tools.
  • Ability to bridge communication among technical and non-technical staff and customers.
  • Ability to be flexible, such as the ability to work on multiple tasks, handle interruptions, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and give attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact with the end users and provide training and support.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Project Management, or Information Technology is preferred
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience coordinating technical, business, or construction projects or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.    
  • Experience with Agile methodologies preferred.
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) Certification preferred.

Your Work Environment

This is a hybrid position requiring in-office workdays twice weekly, including every Wednesday and another day of your choice (Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday). The remainder of the week can be worked remotely with reliable, secure internet.

There will be little to no travel for this position.
