Great Clips, Inc. is seeking a summer intern to support external communications efforts for the Great Clips brand for the summer of 2025. Applicants can be college students or recent college graduates seeking hands-on experience.

The External Communications Intern will have the opportunity to support a wide variety of brand-building initiatives across the communications team. This position offers hands-on experience to assist with customer service, public relations and social media activities.
Your Mission
The External Communications Intern will be charged with executing a project plan in alignment with the Great Clips vision, goals, and culture in addition to supporting ongoing communications activities for the brand. On your journey, you will have the opportunity to:
- Inform social media strategy by actively researching trends, monitoring for engagement opportunities and sharing ideas for content creation.
- Assist with the creation of social media content.
- Participate in the coordination of media relations efforts, including drafting materials, managing media lists, supporting media outreach and reporting.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the Marketing & Communications department to support local partnership extensions.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Ability to listen, earn trust, and accept direct feedback from franchisees while building strong, positive relationships.
Your Expertise
To land this internship you will need to show the ability to, and possess the following:
- At least 2 years of college or university experience.
- Strong interpersonal communications skills.
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a team, to manage and engage resources as required.
- GREAT written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective project management skills, including time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving.
- Background or interest in content creation across major social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and X.
- A team player with a creative mindset and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent computer skills including MS Word and Microsoft Outlook.
Your Work Environment
This is a hybrid work position requiring a combination of in-office workdays and the option to work from home on the remaining days. Working remotely will require reliable, secure internet.
