Flexible Jobs for Military Families

“I’ve worked at many different Great Clips salons over the course of my career so far,” said Laura, the wife of a U.S. Army veteran. “A couple of them, twice!” 

Great Clips is a 100% franchised company with more than 4,400 salons across the U.S. and Canada. Through her family’s many moves, Laura has had the opportunity to work for three different Great Clips franchisees who own and operate franchised salons. 

Before Laura met her husband, she worked at her local Great Clips salon in Minnesota. “I really enjoyed the job and the salon team,” she said. “I was promoted to a salon manager role, which I loved. The culture was great.” 

After Laura and her husband married, they moved to Georgia where he was stationed. “I got a job at a nearby Great Clips salon. I really liked the franchisee who owned the salon,” Laura said. “It was a good fit.” 

But it didn’t last long. Laura and her husband were relocated to Colorado, and she had a baby. As she adjusted to life as a new mom, and started thinking about returning to work, the family was relocated back to a different area of Georgia. While living there, Laura was employed at a nearby salon. Subsequently, she switched to a different Great Clips salon team. “Great Clips offered the flexibility I needed with my husband gone,” Laura said. “When he was home, his hours were long. Knowing I could get shifts that worked for my family was really important to me.” 

Two years ago, Laura’s husband was medically discharged from the Army. Their family moved back to Minnesota, and Laura returned to work for the original franchisees where her Great Clips career started. 

“Great Clips salons feel like home,” Laura said. “The systems and processes at salons across the country are consistent, and that’s very comforting. Plus, they are everywhere. Wherever you go, there’s probably a Great Clips salon near you.”
