The ETL Developer is responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development, and maintenance of data management solutions at Great Clips, Inc. They are self-motivated and collaborate well with their team and across the organization. This role is responsible for software artifacts produced. They will ensure software adheres to our standards by ensuring that data is available in a timely manner, of quality, and secure while ensuring a positive end-user experience. 

Your Mission

This exciting new role has been created to support our commitment to data at Great Clips, Inc.  Your mission is to help us grow our data management practice by designing, building, testing, and supporting the movement and storage of data in support of all our business needs.  On your journey, you will face interesting challenges like:

  • Contribute to Data Warehouse Architecture and ETL design
  • Design, build, test, and maintain SQL procedures and ETL processes
  • Comply with development standards and best practices
  • Collect and leverage any additional reusable components during a deployment
  • Perform development and unit testing
  • Build and support dimensional database models and slowly changing dimensions
  • Schedule jobs and implement monitoring tools
  • Conduct root cause analysis and performance tuning for complex business processes and functionality
  • Interact with IT and business users across the organization to resolve issues and provide solutions in a timely manner
  • Update/Create and centralize key Data Management Policies / frame works, as needed
  • Offer expertise on selecting and implementing strategic tools to support the orchestration of Data Management activities
  • Support existing and future products created by you and/or your team.
  • Requires the ability to listen, earn trust, and accept direct feedback while building strong, positive relationships.

Your Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience developing in:
    1. Snowflake
    2. Azure Data Factory
    3. Azure Data Lake
    4. SSIS
  • Experience with Informatica Cloud is a plus
  • Experience working with Change Data Capture (CDC) technology
  • Experience working with pub/sub messaging
  • Experience with SQL scripting languages
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to communicate across various levels of stakeholders.
  • Have knowledge of and demonstrated success with many of the activities listed above.
  • Be self-motivated, pro-active, and open to tasks outside normal responsibilities.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PPT, Excel)
  • Be proficient with data analysis, testing.
  • MDM experience a plus, particularly with Informatica.
  • Direct experience with data management techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Our corporate headquarters are in Bloomington, MN. Our approach to work environment focuses on the balance between teamwork and flexibility which means that you have the choice to work predominately remote (besides monthly in office Connection Days and monthly Business Intelligence & Technology team meetings) or in the office based on your personal needs. Our office has lots of natural light, hydraulic desks for standing or sitting and many other amenities, so we are sure you will enjoy your office time as much as working remotely.
