The Director of Data Management provides the vision, strategy, and leadership in the development and execution of enterprise data management solutions that ensure the availability, quality, and governance of data to meet business needs.
Your Mission
As the Director of Data Management, you will be on a mission to deliver modern data solutions, integrations, and governance to Great Clips. This will be accomplished through providing strategic vision and leadership in the delivery of a suite of services, including data architecture, data integrations, data warehousing, master data management, governance, and support.
Your Expertise
- Experience leading and building a data management team focused on delivering quality data assets that have high reliability, accuracy, and security.
- Ability to develop a vision, strategic direction, and roadmaps, and then execute these roadmaps through being willing and able to delve into the details.
- Hands-on experience in designing, building, and maintaining data management solutions, as well as coaching and helping the team and vendors choose the right methods to solve the problem at hand.
- Proven ability to lead the strategy, design, and execution of data integration processes to facilitate seamless flow between systems and applications.
- Expertise in leading & managing large, multi-year data management projects, in particular migrating on-premises data assets to cloud technologies, and delivering these projects on time and on budget.
- Expertise with managing data in a cloud environment, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, and Azure Data Lake preferred.
- Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting a Master Data Management (MDM) solution.
- Experience managing a data warehouse and the data integration development teams.
- Ability to drive the creation and implementation of best practices for all aspects of the data management framework.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, an active listener with the ability to articulate thoughts and ideas within and across various audiences, and interface effectively with business partners and franchisees.
- Strong leadership ability to both direct and consult on multiple projects, as well as effectively balance workload.
- Proven ability to work with all levels of the organization and third party vendors to resolve complex/critical issues, provide direction and implement change.
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus on technology (Computer Science, MIS, etc) ; Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years’ experience in data management, IT technical project management, with at least 5 years in management supervising and coaching others is required.
Your Work Environment
Our corporate headquarters are in Bloomington, MN. Our approach to work environment focuses on the balance between teamwork and flexibility which means that you have the choice to work remote (besides monthly in office Connection Days and monthly Business Intelligence & Technology team meetings) or in the office based on your personal needs. As a director, this includes a minimum of two days per week being located in the corporate office. Our office has lots of natural light, hydraulic desks for standing or sitting and many other amenities, so we are sure you will enjoy your office time as much as working remotely.
Travel for this position is on-demand to attend meetings and events, typically not more than 10 trips per year. Most trips will be two to three days in length.
