The Digital Design Specialist provides support to the Great Clips University (GCU) and Events team, to create visual effects that excite, explain and entertain while being within branded standards. This role creates, designs, edits, and produces media content as part of the Learning and development strategy, including but not limited to videos, audio, basic motion graphics, as well as sources and supports media needs for company meetings and events. 

Your Mission 

In collaboration with the GCU and Events team, this position will contribute to audio editing, video creation, music sourcing, internal digital platform production and other elements of digital productions. This position may lead small- to mid-sized projects, such as video content for online learning within the GCU training platform and presentations.  The digital Design Specialist draws from brand guidelines and standards, but also drives innovation, gaining appropriate input and feedback to deliver the final product that exceeds expectations. The position works within the GCU team and provides support throughout the company. On your journey, you will face challenges like:

  • Work with project leads to develop project needs and provide timely and cost-effective video and multimedia programs for internal use; advise teammates on media choice based on needs as well as new technology options.
  • Collect, oversee and archive brand media assets, including video, audio, graphics and photography within GCU and through the Great Clips Library (Digital Asset Manager).
  • Remain current with established and emerging technologies including videography, audio production, graphics animation and digital media.
  • Serve as in-house digital media expert in preparation of digital presentation assets on Sharepoint and producing successful live (Zoom) and recorded events, including preparation and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to listen, earn trust, and accept direct feedback from other corporate employees while building strong, positive relationships.

Your Expertise

Describe the type of candidate you are likely attracting whether they are seasoned, mid-career or entry level and how their experience applies to the job, to land this job you will need to show your proven ability to:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, digital design, film or related field is desired.
  • A minimum of 2+ years professional experience in graphic design, motion picture, digital or related occupation.
  • Prepare pre-production functions including scope, program and production design, logistics planning, and shooting and editing schedules while securing approvals throughout process as appropriate.
  • Execute post-production functions including video editing, graphics/motion graphics creation, brand standard compliance, and duplication.
  • Develop concepts for short- and long-form multimedia pieces
  • Use excellent visual storytelling skills to produce pieces integrating a wide range of media
  • Generate scripts, storyboards, and schematics based on project goals
  • Assure each phase of project gets appropriate approvals, including brand alignment, and understanding brand standards and corporate style.
  • Manage raw and finished media assets, including collection of files, tagging, archiving, storage, and distribution/publishing
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of and experience with multimedia production software such as Adobe Suites (Premier Pro, Photoshop, Etc.); iBook Authors or comparable programs; Camtasia; familiarity with motion graphics and animation software; and other digital media tools and editing equipment
  • Experience in virtual platforms both in Zoom and Microsoft Teams
  • Knowledge of both PC and Mac platforms
